For the inhabitants of Villa de los Santos and  Chitre is the beach EL Rompío one of the most favorite.  The beach El  Rompío is located in the Los Santos province about 12 kilometers from the town Villa de los Santos driving on paved road in good condition. It is one of the three beaches connected together and is located between the beaches Monagre and Los Guayaberos. If you want you can to walk on shore of the Pacific Ocean to reach the next beach. The beach is quite flat and spread out several kilometers on the both sides.

The sand is dark and fine, the bottom of the sea is shallow gently descendig, so you can walk very far into the ocean and the water will reach your waist only. The trouble is that this beach has no shadow, therefore seems a good idea to carry an umbrella with you. In case of emergency of heatstroke you can hide your body in the beach restaurant and drink cold beer and in this manner prevent dehydration. In the restaurant also offer a variety of seafood at good prices. Sometimes on the weekends the beach can be crowded with people with stereo, quad (ATV) and watercraft (Jet Ski), so nothing for seekers of peace and tranquility.
